Jacqueline Garza, Head of School, is passionate about classical Christian education and childhood development. As such, Jacqueline oversees all activities involving spiritual, strategic, and financial leadership for Veritas Academy.  Jacqueline holds an MBA from Babson College FW Olin School of Business, and a BS in Biology from Minnesota State University, Moorhead.

Jacqueline has been married for 16 years and her son and daughter are current students at Veritas Academy. Jacqueline enjoys reading, playing tennis and piano, but most of all spending time with her family.

Amila and her husband have been married since 1998, and have five children: Rebecca. Joshua, Surina, Anastasia, and Emma. Their family feels much smaller now with just two children remaining at home!  

God called her family to Christian classical education in 2004, when their oldest daughter began kindergarten. In 2009, she began teaching at the K-12th grade levels in a variety of classes: science, writing, Latin, history, grammar, logic, and rhetoric. 

Since 2019, she has been adapting curricula and training teachers and parents in the homeschooling community. Prior to teaching, she earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from UCSD (1995) and worked as a researcher at UCSD, Salk Institute, and Hybritech (a biotech subsidiary of Lilly).

Amila is committed to time-tested principles of cultivating wisdom and virtue through academic pursuit. She is humbled and excited to witness God’s work in the lives of children who are educated to discern Truth, Goodness, and Beauty! 

Michelle is an enthusiastic teacher dedicated to young people, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Baylor University, with a minor in religion. With over 20 years of diverse educational experience, including homeschooling her own children using traditional, Charlotte Mason, and Neo-Classical models, Michelle excels in connecting with students. 

Actively engaged with high school youth through her church and Urban Youth Collaborative, Michelle values diversity in her interactions.

Beyond teaching, Michelle finds inspiration in health, hiking, art, and urban gardening, which enrich her educational approach.  She looks forward to continuing to make a difference at Veritas and helping students achieve their potential.

Hanna-Sue Gloger prioritizes personal relationships and Spiritual growth in her students. The Lord placed the calling of ministry on Hanna-Sues heart when she was seventeen and in 2021, Hanna-Sue realized her mission and passion was teaching.  With a BA in Communications and Biblical Studies from Dallas Baptist University, she aims to educate in a way that is clear and Biblical.  While teaching 1st grade in Texas, Hanna-Sue was given opportunities to lead and pave the way in creating and facilitating curriculum that was hands on and engaging for her students. Hanna-Sue has a passion for creative thinking and hands on learning.

Hanna-Sue and her husband got married in February 2024 then moved cross country from East Texas to San Diego. She enjoys playing games, going on walks and spending with her family on back home on the farm.

Johanna Bradley was born in Poway, California, and is the second oldest of 7 siblings. With an Associate of Arts degree from Grossmont College, she has over ten years of teaching experience home educating her own children, five years of experience teaching in a classroom, and over twenty years of experience working in children’s ministry. 

With a passion for guiding young minds, Johanna brings enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication to the classroom. She creates an environment where students thrive, explore, and grow, through engaging lessons with a biblical worldview, and meaningful interactions, Johanna aims to inspire a lifelong love for learning.

Evan is a patient and thorough instructor who is dedicated to bringing students to precise mathematical understanding. 

He will graduate from the University of California San Diego in the Fall with a Bachelors in Applied Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. He has tutored as a Supplemental Instruction leader at UCSD for 10 academic quarters, where he has taught supplemental classes for multivariable calculus, linear algebra, and integral calculus. 

Evan accepted Jesus into his heart in his sophomore year in high school, and currently serves in his church's college and children's ministry. Evan is excited to share his love for God and mathematics with his students.

Malia Medina brings a passion for art, education and nurturing young minds to her role as an art teacher. With seven years of experience in various capacities working with children, Malia has honed her skills in creating engaging and enriching learning experiences.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Malia is deeply committed to her faith and integrates the gospel along with values rooted in love, kindness, and honor into her teaching. She believes in creating a supportive classroom environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to explore their artistic talents.

Outside of the classroom, Malia enjoys spending time with her family, volunteering at her church, and being in nature. 

Janelle is a local San Diego music teacher. She taught music with several homeschool/charter schools over the years.

She has been teaching piano, voice, violin, and guitar, privately for close to fifteen years now. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music from San Diego Christian College. She currently is the music and drama teacher at Foothills Christian High School, and is excited to join the teaching team at Veritas. She has taught music in Ukraine and performed and led worship in several countries throughout Europe. Her latest music opportunity is singing with the San Diego Master Chorale. She has helped lead worship for many years and loves to sing and play to her Savior Jesus Christ. Her latest adventure was getting married to her husband William.
